Ingredients & Inspiration

Always got a sweet tooth but trying to eat more whole foods? These perfect little Cacao Bliss Balls are the answer to your healthy treat prayers! Made with only 6 whole food plant based ingredients, they’re the ultimate chocolatey bites that not only taste soooo good, but they’re good for you!

Here’s a quick li’l rundown of what you’ll need to make ’em:

  • dates (medjool or other soft varieties)
  • raw hazelnuts
  • rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • Cacao Bliss Superfood Elixir Blend
  • shredded coconut
  • vanilla extract

I love adding Cacao Bliss to all sorts of treats, baked goods, or just enjoying it on it’s own as a decadent beverage as it’s made with ceremonial grade raw cacao (which is raw, unprocessed cocoa) plus a blend of other superfoods like turmeric, lucuma, cinnamon and mesquite. It’s like the best tasting chocolate with a bunch of benefits from boosting energy and mood, fighting inflammation, curbing cravings and helping you feel satiated!

How to Make Cacao Bliss Balls

Cacao Bliss Balls don’t require any cooking (other than roasting nuts if yours don’t come pre-roasted) and they come together quickly in a food processor!

  • Roast the raw hazelnuts for 8 minutes at 350°F. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, soak the dates in boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain, reserving ⅓ of the water.
  • Using a food processor, blitz the roasted hazelnuts, rolled oats, Cacao Bliss and ⅔ cup unsweetened shredded coconut until they are breadcrumb-like in texture.
  • Add soaked dates, vanilla extract, and ⅓ cup of the reserved date water. Blitz again until dates are finely chopped and mixture comes together.
  • Measure out some extra coconut and Cacao Bliss for rolling into 2 small bowls. Using a cookie dough scoop, scoop out bliss ball mixture into 1 tbsp sized portions and roll into balls, and then roll in the extra coconut.
  • Transfer bliss balls to a sealable container and refrigerate for up to 7 days. Best enjoyed chilled!

Notes

Coconut: If you don’t have desiccated coconut, just blitz unsweetened shredded coconut in a food processor until it’s a finer texture like breadcrumbs. Then proceed to use it in the recipe.
